As the fall season sets in, Warren County residents should expect to see an increase in the number of deer carcasses along the roadside. If the carcass in located in the Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) right-of-way, the agency will have staff remove it if a request in made to their Customer Service Center. The Customer Service Center is available around the clock to receive citizen requests and answer VDOT related questions. Citizens should call 1-800-FOR-ROAD (800-367-7623) to report a problem or complete VDOT's Online Work Request Form for non-emergency work requests for state maintained roads. Requests submitted online will be reviewed witin 72 hours. VDOT provides services such as: filing potholes, drainage culvert cleaning and repair, guardrail repair, signs, traffic lights, animal, tree and debris removal from the roadway, and shoulder repair.
