The Warren County Public Safety Building has been nominated for a United States Green Building Council's National Capital Region Award of Excellence. The 44,000 square foot facility which opened in October of 2012 serves as the home to the Warren County Department of Fire and Rescue Services and the Warren County Sheriff's Office. The nomination was based on several factors including sustainability, site design, water efficiency, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environment. The project was awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification in April 2013, exceeding Warren County's original goal of LEED Silver.
