Warren County is excited to announce the latest upgrade to the County’s GIS (geographic information system) website. The website will continue to provide useful tools to residents regarding property information, zoning, school districts, floodplains, etc. The website has been developed with newer technology which enables the site to deliver faster user experience in map drawing speeds, searches, and report generation. In addition, the recent upgrade makes the site mobile compatible for the first time, enabling users to perform these functions on a smart phone or tablet device.
The website was initially launched in 2005 and last upgraded in fall 2014. The website was developed and is hosted by The Timmons Group, an engineering and consulting firm based out of Richmond under contract with the County. According to Doug Sexton, Warren County GIS Coordinator, “In addition to the performance enhancements and mobile capabilities, a new feature of the site is the inclusion of house photos associated with a property where available. This information can be downloaded to PDF on a newly improved property card report layout. We are excited to bring these new improvements to our users at no additional cost to the County.”
A demonstration for the public will be held at the Warren County Government Center in the Community Meeting Room on May 11, 2016, at 6:00PM. Individuals can access the site and information at www.warrengis.org
