Warren County offers five citizens’ locations throughout the County to dispose of household waste and recycle.  Bagged household waste may be disposed of at all locations, while large, bulky items must be taken directly to the Transfer Station.  Recycling centers are located at all locations with the exception of the Shenandoah Farms Compactor site.  Please note all loads should be secured to prevent littering and accidents.

A Valid Warren County or Town of Front Royal decal must be displayed in order to dispose of waste and/or recycling materials.  Disposal of waste may require a waiver.  Any trailer over 8’ in length, truck over ¾ ton, out of County vehicles and rental vehicles MUST obtain a waiver from County Administration located in Suite 100 of the Warren County Government Center.  If you have any questions, please call (540) 636-4600 to speak with County Administration staff.

Waste from commercial enterprises, businesses, contractors, non-residents or any source other than residential/household is prohibited at the Convenience Site locations.

Route 522/340  – 10037 Winchester Road, Front Royal: Located 3/10 of a mile south of the junction of Routes I-66 and 522/340 at the VDOT Park and Ride facility

Route 340 South – 9823 Stonewall Jackson Highway, Front Royal: Located 2 miles south of the junction of South Street & Route 340 just past Skyline Caverns

Apple House – 2664 Dismal Hollow Road, Linden: Located 3/10 of a mile from the junction of Routes I-66 and 55 East on Route 647

Shenandoah Farms – 47 Blue Mountain Road, Front Royal: Located at the corner of Blue Mountain Road and Howellsville Road

Warren County Transfer Station

The Warren County Transfer Station is located at the site of the closed Warren County Landfill.  All waste deposited at Convenience sites and Commercial waste is transported to the Transfer Station in Bentonville for disposal to a landfill outside of Warren County.  All Commercial waste and materials not to be considered household/residential must be taken to the Transfer Station for collection and disposal.  The Scale House attendant will verify if materials are to be disposed of at no charge or if a fee will be required.

*Tipping floor customers should try to arrive by 2:30 pm in order to allow for required clean-up.
