This full-time position performs difficult skilled clerical and technical work serving as auditor, conducting field investigations, discovery and audits of business establishments to determine tax liability; researching and compiling background information and code references; responding to requests for information and preparing responses to audit filings; supervising and training staff on policies and procedures; developing audit procedures and scheduling site visits with business representatives; maintaining records and knowledge of current litigation, etc.. Thorough knowledge of general laws and administration of policies governing real and personal property, state and local tax code pertaining to local business, modern office practices and standard office and accounting equipment required; experience with MS Word and Excel, strict attention to detail and proofreading skills required, along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in business, accounting, finance, or related field supplemented by specialized training in real and personal property assessments required, with moderate experience in local real or personal property tax work preferred. Successful applicant must pass a post-offer criminal background check and a drug-screening test.
Salary range is $33,291.43 - $50,656.87, depending on qualifications. Excellent benefits package.
