February 5th, TV3 Winchester posted an exclusive video tour of the Dominion Power Station that is being constructed in Warren County. The facility, which broke ground on June 1, 2012 and is roughly 15% complete, will help provide power for more than 400,000 homes in Virginia. "We're working on a lot of things at once, but probably the main thing we're working on right now is getting the combustion turbans completed. Those are essentially gigantic jet engines," said Spokesperson Dan Genest. The gigantic engines are one thing that will make the power plant safe for the environment. "We're getting another 570 megawatts of electricity from steam which has no emissions what so ever," stated Genest. As construction moves forward, Dominion continues to build more than just a power station; they are building a relationship with the community. The company has been working on projects along the Shenandoah River and has been very active in United Way. Citizens can view the video tour for more information.
