Art Residency with Warren County Elementary School Students

Throughout March the Blue Ridge Arts Council hosted an artist residency program with local elementary school students in conjunction with Warren County's 175th Anniversary celebration.  Local artist Kelly Walker visited each of the five elementary schools in Warren County.  Art instructors from each school selected 16 fourth-graders to participate and the residency lasted for four days at each school. Students created original artwork depicting traditional scenes of the County. The individual pieces were then put together to create a collage of Warren County.


The final artwork will be displayed at the Warren County Community Center from May 16, 2011 to July 31, 2011.  Thank you Kym and Kelly for your hard work!  The students did an amazing job and the artwork turned out wonderfully!  Please view the photographs from each school below:
