FootGolf Course

Front Royal FootGolf Course

In July 2015, Warren County Parks and Recreation opened the first Certified United States FootGolf Association (USFGA) FootGolf Course in the Shenandoah Valley.  The course, which is located at the Front Royal Golf Club (902 Country Club Road, Front Royal) joins over 300 footgolf courses nationwide.  The Front Royal Golf Club FootGolf Course is a Par 32, nine-hole course with 1120 yard length for play.

So what is FootGolf and how is it played? FootGolf is a fast-paced game that combines the skill of soccer with rules of golf and is played on a short course.  It does not require a set of golf clubs, but rather is played with the use of your feet and a soccer ball. The game is played with a regulation #5 soccer ball, which is kicked from the tees with the goal of reaching the hole in the fewest strokes possible. The hole is 21″ in diameter and is located several yards away from the regular golfing greens.  Click here to watch a video that explains the rules of the sport and how it all works.

Golfers and FootGolfers will share the course at Front Royal Golf Club. The FootGolf holes are located in the roughs rather than in the greens so FootGolf will not affect the quality of the course for traditional golfers. The FootGolf course is marked with black tee markers and shorter white flags. All FootGolfers will must yield to golfers preparing to tee off from box and wait outside of the fairways until all golfers in a group have completed their tee shots before continuing their play of FootGolf.

The United States Footgolf Association (USFGA) promotes and develops the game of Footgolf for the good of the sport, its participants and the courses that support it. It acts in the best interests of the game and of those who love and play it.
