NOTICE - Road Construction Set To Begin

After multiple weather delays, the Lake Front Royal Sanitary District Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that the new box culvert has been installed.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to start road construction this week. Removal of existing pavement is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 18th. Additionally, construction will include drainage improvements and applying the new paved surface on Lake Front Road and portions of Creek Road. Weather permitting, the project will be completed in early fall.

Traffic Control

Temporary traffic controls will be implemented throughout the course of the road construction. Traffic will be routed around the work areas. The work zone will require stoppage of traffic for short periods of time during all phases of construction. Expect full lane or partial lane closures. Residents and motorists should plan for brief delays each day.

Road construction projects can present challenges for residents, delivery services, and visitors in and around the project limits. Traffic controls will be in place for the safety of the motorists and workers. Please use caution when traveling through the project work areas and help keep everyone safe.

NOTICE - Lake Front Road Closure & Temporary Detour

The Virginia Department of Transportation will be commencing work on the Lake Front Road Rural Addition Project on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

A temporary detour will be constructed for traffic to use during the installation of the new box culvert. The entrance to the bus loop will be utilized for the temporary detour.

County staff have met with VDOT and Warren County Public Schools, and the school bus will continue to use the bus loop for loading and unloading children. The buses will have exit access to complete their loop during construction. E-911 Road Signage for Lake Front Road will be moved to the temporary detour during construction to inform and prevent delays of emergency services, delivery drivers and service contractors.

Completion of Intersection Control Signage

The LFRSD is pleased to announce the completion of the Intersection Control Signage project.  This project was ranked #2 on the current LFRSD, Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Priority list in an effort to address safety and liability concerns.
