Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Set for Indian Hollow Bridge

State Transportation officials advise that the Indian Hollow Bridge in Warren County will be closed for a few hours on Thursday, October 23rd.  The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) plans to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new VA 613 (Indian Hollow Road) bridge over the South Fork of the Shenandoah River beginning at 10:00 am, with a rain date of October 28th. VDOT crews will close Indian Hollow Road, from Mountain Road to Rivermont Drive, to traffic from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. VDOT will set up message boards to alert motorists to the closure.
The public is invited to the event. From the Front Royal area, drivers should take U.S. 340 south to Bentonville and turn right on Va. 613 (Indian Hollow Road). From the Staunton and Harrisonburg areas, motorists should take I-81 north to exit 264, follow Va. 211 east to Luray, drive north on U.S. 340 to Bentonville and turn left on Va. 613 (Indian Hollow Road).  VDOT recently opened the replacement crossing about one mile north of U.S. 340 (Stonewall Jackson Highway). Kanawha Stone Company Inc., of Nitro, West Virginia, completed the $4.41 million project financed through the federal Forest Highway Fund. The project replaced a one-lane, low-water bridge and a second, narrow crossing with a two-lane span that includes a pedestrian/bicycle path.
